Since I moved to Japan in 2007 I’ve been designing annual 年賀状 (ねんがじょう: nengajyou) “New Years Cards.” These special Japanese postcards are held to be delivered on the first of the year (or just after that if you finish them late like me) and each has a lottery number included.
I won’t be making it to a Japanese print shop this year, but I wanted to make an image all the same and decided it was time to jump into screen-printing!
New Year New Mochi made it’s debut at Lone Eye’s New Fear’s Resolutions art show with some glow-in-the-dark t-shirts and will be available to order in a number of designs from Naomiyaki.com and Ghost Town soon! If you just can’t wait to get your hands on a t-shirt though, leave me a comment, twitter, etc!
